A friend of ours came to my parents to take Max's picture.
She took some fun pictures, and Max slept through the first half of them.
She even got a great shot of Max's 360 degree cowlic in his head.

Christmas in California
We had so much fun. Max and I were there for almost 5 weeks and Philip was there for 2.
Max met a whole lot of people for the first time:
Our California relatives in Orange County and Palm Springs,
Cousins from Idaho and Oklahoma,
Cousins Marcus and Seth Bacon from Utah,
Great Grandma and Grandpa Lake,
and this was his first trip to California!
We had a wonderful Christmas, we were continually busy! We played XBOX 'dance dance revolution'. Which philip was really good at. Go Philip! We ate at Kobe's - our favorite restaurant. We saw every movie we could that was out in theatres. I read 7 books, and Max learned to pull himself up onto his knees and arms.
We loved playing outside on the beautiful grass with the warm weather and seeing all of our family!

A Day in the Life of Max
I eat my breakfast. I can hold the bottle with just a little help now.
I take my morning nap... no covers please!
I practice being on my stomach...
I play on my mat on my stomach...
I practice rolling from my back to my side...
I play in my bouncy chair.....
I exercise my legs by pressing up on the my toys hanging on my chair, sometimes I puch too hard and my mom has to readjust the arch so the lights and music keep playing
Max is a very busy baby, he's a social bug who would prefer to have someone always talking to him, as he talks to you.

Birth-day
First Bath
Welcome to the world -
Maximilian Steven Scherer
6lbs. 1oz.
1:49am
Max came three weeks early on a Monday morning. I was supposed to be at work, but instead we were at the hospital. My water broke Sunday morning. My OB/GYN and Pediatrician were both out of town for the Holiday week. It was very exciting; the anesthesiologist was not in the hospital - I was dialated to an 8 by the time he arrived and was at a 10 when he left, it was raining outside, and the doctor on call couldn't retrieve my records from my doctors office. Thankfully, Max came early so I didn't have to have a big baby or a C-Section, which was the current plan.
However, through all the craziness, Max is so lucky as he will always share his birthday with Grandpa Lake!
