The art of balance

Max is trying to walk and while he can now stand all by himself, he has yet to conquer walking. He has actually taken two steps all by himself, but he is still working out the kinks. So to compensate for his inability to get everywhere by walking, he pushes things around so that he doesn't have to crawl. Here are two examples of things he found to get him from point A to B and beyond...

Max and Isabella.....Isabella and Max....

Max has so much fun playing with his cousin Isabella. In fact they have so much fun, I couldn't get the two of them to hold still for a picture together, so here are some attempts...I suddenly have a new respect for professional photographers who can get children to sit still long enough for a photo op. It was made worse by the fact that I was laughing at them being silly and thus shaking the camera.

In the picture above Isabella is saying 'Cheese'. Then she turned and ran away-- laughing. It was really funny. For anyone who has seen Isabella run, you can appreciate this. She has the cutest run! Go Isabella.
In the Hide-out .....
Max and Isabella talk back and forth to each other - in their secret language.
I think in here is where they do most of their devious planning. For example, Max just finished saying "Ok, my Mom is going to take a picutre so close your eyes and I'll distract her by running away, so she can't take a good picture" End result - Isabella closing her eyes and Max running away with a devious smile on his face. Sneaky Sneaky Maximus!
Isabella, don't let Max turn you to the dark side.
Isabella is very obedient, Max on the other hand - not so much.

Smiling so beautifully. This is where they have discovered that they now whant to play with the camera...End photo opportunities.

This is part of their 'secret language' Hand gestures are part of the communication.

For those of you who can appreciate 'Noggin' - the official preschool on TV station - the title of this blog post is supposed to be sung to the melody of "Max & Ruby"For those of you who are unfamiliar with the melody, well then, I guess you'll have to tune into Noggin to find out how it goes. (I'm not computer savy enough yet to actually attach the music to this post.)

At least Ahmari will appreciate it!

Narcolepsy: A sleep disorder marked by sudden, uncontrollable urges to sleep

Here he fell alseep while watching "Handy Manny" on the Disney channel in from of the lay-z-boy.

Here is fell asleep on the blanket next to his monkey that he cares around everywhere, just playing one minute and sleeping the next, all while I was cooking in the kitchen.

Max has turned a new corner. He just falls asleep at these random moments. So lately, I've found him on the floor next to his various toys and blankets just sleeping! It's really strange. He just lays down, sucks his thumb, then wakes-up and starts playing again. Like nothing happened. It's so funny. He fell asleep the other day while Philip was lying on the floor playing with him. Philip looked over, and there was Max. Alseep. Just lying next to philip.

Max's New Groove

I caught the tail end of Max dancing. He likes Music and he either shakes his arms or moves his legs when it's on. He prefers to play his own music on the piano, but when it's not an option, he likes to hold the portable stereo and dance.

Birthday Celebration

The Gainesville crew;Andrew, Tommy, Me, Max, Julianna, Ashely and Isabella. The boys and me. So studly in Green. Princess Isabella. Can you see her cute curly hair? Gentle Andrew, such a good baby. Andrew and Max are 8 days apart and they both have light skin, Grandpa Scherer's blue eyes and super blonde hair, granted Andrew has a ton more hair! Lookin good Andrew!

The family in Gainesville came over for dinner at our house to celebrate my 26th Birthday. We had tacos and lots of food. All the cousins had lots of fun running around and playing games. If you listen you can hear Tommy singing Happy Birthday the loudest. Thanks Tommy and everyone for coming and celebrating with us we had lots of fun. Then on my Birthday, Allison brought lunch over, from Panera Bread, one of my favorite palces to eat, and the little kids played and Ingird took me to get my nails done. It was like being princess for a day. It was alot of fun and a great birthday! Thanks everyone for making it so memorable.
