Fungus Ball - we missed the memo

Yes, that is the official name for the event put on by the Pathology department. I effectionately call it - the 'Scum Ball'. Luckily, Philip was my date and he's like a fabulous purse. Just like in Hollywood you can be wearing the ugliest outfit, but if your purse is marvelous, then who cares that you look like you just jumped out of bed, right? Everyone will just focus on the purse, and everyone loves Philip so they always focus on him. Thank goodness.

So this is how it went. First, Philip wanted to wear a tux and I talked him out of it since I felt that he only needed to wear a suit- bad idea. We showed up at the event and I think, really, it was more like a mini-oscar event. One of the attendees was actually wearing a gown that I thought one of my Barbies used to wear. Actually, with the amount of fabric the dress had it, could have been the same exact dress! Who knows this is Gainesville. So, not only are we underdressed, but because I have no flesh showing I am drawing even more attention. Then on top of all this uncomfortableness, I had a really bad stomach bug. (later I realize the bug was a blessing- I got to leave early) So needless to say I had to leave Philip at the event and go home to use the facilities and once again, Philip doesn't even need a date he can be a one man show. Sorry I had to leave early sweetie, at least, I'm sorry I had to leave you by yourself.

Philip and I had the Luxury of going on four dates without Max this month. (I am including the ER visit I had, as a date, since we were together without Max. Granted, we spent 6 hours in the waiting room of the hospital, but hey don't we all wish we could spend good quailty time with sick people in Florida?) Thank you to all our many babsitters who helped in this! Aunt Allison, Uncle Kurt, Aunt Ingrid and Grandma Lake, we love you!
