the tale of the much loved Laptop

So as you probably noticed we haven't posted any pictures in a while.
Well, the worst thing happened. Our computer crashed and took all our pictures with it.
So I've been too depressed to think about working with pictures for a while. Sure, we backed up some pictures and we had some printed, but there was just sooooooo much that was missing.

Well, luck was with us today - the Dell customer service rep came by and resurrected our laptop from the pile of ashes it was and recovered all our pictures! Yeah!!! So, now I can post again.
Thanks for all the prayers - especially Mama Scherer who optimistically beleived that it would all work out in the end.

So now that all the information has been backed-up properly on its own little machine and is safe, never to be lost again. I can't help but think that I should tell everyone to back-up their pictures, save them to CD's or print them so that this horrible experience does not leave you in tears and refraining from speaking to your husband for an entire day. Seriously, it was such a horrible feeling to think that you lost all your child's pictures of his first year of life. Just don't go through this. I also recommend Picasa from google, a great program that holds via the internet all your pictures.

that would be horrible to lose all your pics--I'm so glad it worked itself out. I look forward to seeing some pics of what's going on with you guys. We had a really fun time seeing you guys after Christmas.

tragic day! I am glad it worked out. I would be so sad if I lost our pictures of Jack. Good reminder to back everything up!

I SO backed my pictures after reading your post. I am so glad you were able to retrieve your precious memories. I love pictures and would go crazy if I lost any!

Hey Natatlie! Love being able to catch up with you via the blogging world. It seems like whenever we're down in the desert, we've just missed you! Max is adorable, and it's funny, but I think he looks remarkably like Russell too! I'm not going crazy if his own mother thinks that!

We've been using Picassa, but I never realized that it backed things up via the web! Good to know!
