A serious month of too much fun!

July was so crazy. This is my attempt to capture our excitment.

We started with a Residency party on the Chattanooga Riverboat. It was alot of fun, with good food. I got to meet Dr. Panda, Philip's Transitional Year Program Director and 5 of his fellow transitional year peers. We actually got off the boat before it left the harbor, because we took little sister with us, but it was alot of fun to be on a boat. We also saw Dr. Fishborn again, he is the new UT -Chattanooga College of Medicine president. He is a former Gator and Philip's first week of Medical School he had us over for dinner with his family, so it was good to see him again. He's a very good leader and physician.
The boat. It runs on the big river here, right in the middle of Chattanooga.
Little sister and Mom. Dr. Panda held Lorelei the whole night, everybody wanted to talk to and hold the baby. She's a hit whereever she goes because she's such a happy baby.

Best buds, Max is very aware of his little sister and is always right next to her, even sometimes on top of her. Maybe there is such thing as too much love! However, Lorelei is lucky to have such an attentive big brother like Max.

Max's 3rd Birthday!

The presents
The Cupcakes. From a specialty cupcake store here in Chattanooga, Gigi's Cupcakes.

Opening the presents
Water torpedos.
Water gun. Max is really good at sharing his toys in the pool with all the other kids. He also likes it when they share their toys with him.
Book about insects. We read it every night. Max has all the names of the bugs memorized. He is really into creepy crawly things right now.
Bolt the movie, he loves this movie.

4th of July

Dad and Max watching the HUGE firework show at the Ward's home. Their grandpa, Phil Smart, puts on a GIGANTIC firework show for his grandkids every year. It's out of control huge. The bed of his truck was full of fireworks, and not tiny ones, but big ones that light up the sky. It was seriously amazing.

Well, there's no debate on where Lorelei gets her Big eyes.

Max holding fire. Does it get any better than that?

This was the firework pre-show. I had to take the baby inside because the loud fireworks were scaring her really badly. Oh well, the things we do for our kids.
Max on the tramp. What a fun 4th. It was really wonderful, we had a blast and felt lucky to be apart of the Ward's family traditions.

Bath time
Max and Lorelei love water. Needless to say, they love bath time.
All clean.
Play time. Lorelei could spend all day in this. Not because she likes the toys, but because they all have really great tags to suck on. She would rather put the tags in her mouth then the actual toy. Silly girl.
Just like Max, Lorelei is so aware of everything around her. Philip says she gets this from me. Maybe, but everything else she got from her daddy. Her fingers, her toes, her eyebrows, her hair and her ability to tan really fast, she got them all from her dad. Her hair fell out and is growing back in, it's still pretty dark so I'm guessing she's not going to be a blonde right now.

Potty Training

Successful moments on the potty = 1

While potty training is not going well, there is great hope for the future. My mom says that I don't have to worry because he will at least be potty trained by the time he goes to High School. Great. Oh Max, one day we wont have to buy diapers anymore. One day running around with messy pants WILL bother you. One day you will actually WANT to go on the big boy potty. But not today. Today you are still my little boy.

This was supposed to be a "prize" for going on the potty. However, that did NOT go over well, so he just got the toy. Nice Max, you are not allowed to go to Law School. Max is three and already is a strong negotiator. He actually uses complete sentences and when he gets caught red handed talks his way out of trouble. Where did he learn this? He says things to me in the grocery store and people just laugh at me because they can't believe what he says. Max is a really smart boy and he's really big , so it's hard to be 3, people expect him to act older then he is. Oh well. You're too much fun Maximus!

Hi Natalie! I peeked onto your blog - looks like you are having fun there! We miss you. :)
(And I smiled when I read about the fireworks - Bro. Smart was Ryan's mission president in Oakland, CA. What a fun guy!)
